Major Chains Report Continued Double-Digit Internet Growth With 25 Percent Increase in Q3.CHICAGO, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers continue an upward trend of shopping for hotels online and booking electronically, according to TravelCLICK's consolidated third quarter eTRAK results, released today. The data shows the Internet contributed 40.0 percent, or 8,581,936 reservations, of the total Central Reservation Office (CRO) reservations at major hotel brands, a 24.8 percent increase compared to the same period in 2005.
In my opinion first of all you can choose easier in internet than the traditional way we did and you will have more choices in terms of prices and quality than before and also you can comparing the prices whatever you are looking for which was not possible before so this is why we should be always up-to-date in front of technology otherwise we are getting lost and each year the number of people who is using the internet for their needs is growing up.
for example almost 25 percents increase comparing the last year in CRO of the hotels is incredible.

As I understand your comment, you feel it is very imprtant for hotels to do a good job and attract customers online...yes? What shoukld an independent hotel do to be better than chains, online?

well an independent hotel should be more creative than chains by giving some extra servieces online for example (room with the car)if i have my own hotel I will provied a car rent agency sector like easy car in front desk and in my web site as well with all cathegory of the prices and if someone ask for a car, i can even leave the car ready for them in the airport so they will not loosing the time during the day and doing their business and coming back to the hotel so here easy car will take care of the cars and i will get some commition. which i can tell you doesn't exist in any chains like that because they are so busy and they dont have time to think about such kind of services.
there are thousands services that you can create in your own hotel which is not possible to do in chains.
my second idea is to provied very expensive cars like Lumborgini or Ferrari if my vip client wants to go to the party some where.
here you will be unique because you as a client have money and you just need everything ready.ain't i?
